The Career Flow Collective

Hello [[contact.first_name|default: "there"]],

Over the past two weeks, you’ve begun noticing your inner voice, and practicing how to respond with more support and care.

This week, we turn toward something that often sits underneath that voice: uncertainty.

Not knowing.
Not feeling fully prepared.
Not getting it “right” the first time.

For many of us, uncertainty triggers a familiar response: we tighten, we judge, we try to protect.

But as you’re starting to see, self-compassion offers another way.

It allows us to stay open.
To soften the armor.
To meet uncertainty with curiosity instead of criticism.

Because growth doesn’t come from being right, it comes from being willing to learn. And to learn, we need to be vulnerable - not critical.

Do small things with great love.
Eileen

P.S. If you haven’t already, reserve your 1:1 session for this month.

Reflection

Take a few moments to reflect:

  • When uncertainty shows up at work, how do you typically respond?

  • What thoughts or judgments tend to follow?

  • How does that response impact your confidence, decision-making, or energy?

Now consider:

  • What might shift if you approached uncertainty with curiosity instead of control?

  • What becomes possible when you don’t need to have it all figured out?

Practice

When you notice judgment arise this week, pause and gently shift into curiosity.

Instead of:

  • “Why can’t I get this right?”
→ “What’s the next best decision with what I know right now?”

  • “This is a gap for me.”
→ “Is this a growth edge - and how do I want to lead through it?”

  • “I should already know this.”
→ “What perspective, data, or dialogue would strengthen my clarity here?”

You’re not dismissing the moment, you’re creating space to engage with it differently.

At the end of the day, check-in:

  • When did you notice uncertainty today?

  • How did curiosity change your response?

  • Where did you feel more open, grounded, or engaged?

Optional End-of-Week Journal Prompt:
What do your reactions to uncertainty reveal about how you relate to growth, learning, and self-trust?

Optional Reset Practice

Small resets throughout the day can gently restore energy. Here are three you can play throughout the month:

Breathwork
For a few moments, place a hand on your heart and breathe naturally. Feeling the gentle rise and fall of your breath.

As you breathe, silently repeat the phrase, “I am kind and gentle with myself.”

Movement
Have a mini dance party. Put on a favorite song and let your body move freely — no structure, no performance, just release.

Grounding
After completing a challenging task, gently say to yourself:

“I’ve done what I could here. Now I give myself a moment to rest.”

(You can always return to the Reset Practice Reference Guides here.)

Upcoming Dates

Your Restorative Group Session is scheduled for:

Friday, June 19th at 12:00 PM CST / 1:00 PM EST

Lingering Thought

I’m not here to be right. I’m here to get it right.  – Brené Brown

When we release the need to be right, we create space to learn, adjust, and grow.

And when self-compassion is present, we don’t need to armor up in moments of uncertainty.

We can stay open.
Curious.
And grounded in who we are becoming.
