The Career Flow Collective

Hello [[contact.first_name|default: "there"]],

Welcome to your first email and the first month of the Career Flow Collective.

As we begin, remember that growing awareness is just as valuable as taking action. If you’re unable to complete every activity or reflection this week, that’s okay. Simply take small moments throughout your day to notice what’s happening for you.

Each month builds on the one before it, and each week follows a rhythm of Awareness → Envisioning → Protecting → Embodying. Together, these steps help you move closer to your natural career flow.

This month, we begin with energy.

Energy is the source behind everything we do. We need it before we can gain clarity, make decisions, and take action.

But where does our energy come from?
And where does it go?

Energy is one of our clearest feedback loops. It tells us how we’re doing:

Am I surviving… or thriving?

Most people can quickly name where their energy goes — caring for others, planning, managing projects, navigating conversations, running a household… the list goes on.

But fewer people know what truly restores it.

This week, your goal is simple: increase awareness of where your energy flows throughout the workday.

Do small things with great love,

Eileen Murphy

Reflection

One way to assess energy is through our breath.

When we feel energized, our breathing tends to be natural and full — expanding through the belly and diaphragm.

When we feel drained, our breath often becomes shallow, tight, or shortened.

Throughout the workday, pause occasionally and notice your breath.

Write down 2–3 moments when:

  • Your breathing feels easy
  • Your breathing feels constricted

Then reflect:

  • What are you doing in that moment?
  • What about the task feels energizing or draining?

It may be something that brings you joy or aligns with your strengths.

Or it may reveal the opposite.

Activity

At the end of each day, rate your overall energy level on a scale from 1 to 10:

1 — Exhausted
3 — Drained — you’re pushing through the day with limited energy
5 — Neutral / Stagnant
7 — Productively energized — work feels manageable and your attention is flowing
10 — Fully energized

Then complete these two sentences:

  1. Today my energy felt depleted when…
  2. Today my energy felt restored when…

At the end of the week, look back over your notes and consider:

  • What patterns emerge?
  • What do you notice about your environment, relationships, or workload in these moments?
  • How might you begin designing your workday to better support your energy? OR how might you shift how you meet the draining parts of your day?

Optional Reset Practice

Breathwork
Take one minute for energizing belly breaths at the start of your workday.

Movement
Try a gentle seated twist to release tension and encourage circulation.

Grounding
Place your feet firmly on the floor before a meeting. Imagine roots growing into the ground beneath you.

Throughout the program, I’ll continue sharing simple reset practices like these as reminders to support your energy during the workday.

If you’d like, you can also explore the Reset Practice Reference Guides here, which include all of the practices we’ll reference throughout the Collective. There’s no need to try them all — simply choose the ones that feel supportive for you.

Upcoming Dates

Your Restorative Group Session is scheduled for:

Lingering Thought

This week isn’t about fixing anything.
It’s about noticing what your energy is trying to tell you.
